ZEISS DuraVision BlueProtect este un tratament special pentru lentile, care se adreseaza in special persoanelor care petrec mult din timpul lor in interior si sunt expuse la lumina albastru-violet de la iluminatul cu LED-uri, precum si la cea care provine de la ecrane TV, monitoare de calculator, tablete sau smart phone-uri.
Exista dovezi care demonstreaza ca expunerea pe termen lung la lumina albastru-violet cu lungime de unda sub 460 nm, cu un maxim la 440 nm, contribuie la deteriorarea foto-chimica a retinei, crescand riscul de degenerescenta maculara.
